Are you Hungry and Thirst after Righteousness?

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled. ( KJV )

Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ who knows everything, shows us the way to be blessed by being filled with the Spirit. We need to hunger and thirst after righteousness. We all know how it feels to be hungry and how it feels to be thirsty. Just as the body craves for food to eat and water to drink, so must we as believers seek after righteousness. Master Jesus is saying here, we cannot sit down and be lazy; we need to desire, commit, determine and discipline ourselves in order to walk in righteousness which will bring the blessings of God Almighty into our life.

To hunger and thirst after righteousness means our desire to obey God’s commandments, our desire to depart from sin; pride, anger, idolatry, adultery, fornication, unforgiveness, bitterness, selfishness, envy, jealousy, drunkenness and so on. To be filled with the Spirit of love, faith, hope, peace, joy, self-control, gentleness, longsuffering and so on.

The LORD GOD Almighty who made the Heaven and the earth, whose son is JESUS Christ is telling you today, that if you are hungry for Him, thirsty for Him and yearn to be in His presence, then only will you be filled as you seek after righteousness.
